Alright, we all know that aging is a natural part of life. However, we have two options when it comes to aging: either let the cruel and unforgiving hands of time have their way with us, or change the way we age. We are able to slow the signs of aging while simultaneously reducing the negative affects that come with age. There are so many different things you can do to ensure you age with grace that in an effort to avoid overloading you with information I will only be providing you with a few options in this article. Don’t worry, I will make sure to continue to add additional posts on ways to age with grace.
A Daily Anti-Aging Routine for Anyone
If you’re serious about looking younger, you need to be taking action every day. The good news is that you don’t have to spend hours beautifying your skin and fight the visible signs of aging. In fact, an effective daily anti-aging regimen takes just a few minutes each day. Read on to learn the exact steps you need to take to start your own effective daily anti-aging regimen.
Daily Skincare
An effective daily skincare routine is essential if you want to keep looking young as the years pass by. Every night before bed, make sure you remove your makeup, cleanse and tone your skin, exfoliate and moisturize. This will remove dead skin cells and toxins from the skin and encourage the growth of fresh and youthful new skin cells. Also, make sure you use eye cream because the skin around the eyes is more susceptible to the effects of aging, so needs added protection.
To get the maximum anti-aging benefit from your daily skincare regimen, make sure you use organic skincare products or natural solutions. There are many high-quality organic skincare products available for you to buy or you can make your own natural skincare solutions with ingredients such as brown sugar (which is a great natural exfoliant), coconut oil (which is a powerful natural moisturizer) and honey (which is a highly effective natural deep cleansing solution.
Try this amazing homemade facial scrub recipe:
- 1/4 cup brown sugar (packed down)
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 6 drops Doterra Lavender essential oils
- 2 oz glass jar
Directions: Mix all ingredients in a small bowl. Use essential oil or oils of choice. I like 3 drops of sandalwood and 3 drops of lavender. Once ingredients are blended together, place into jar.
To Use: On freshly washed skin, take approximately one tablespoon of the scrub and rub into facial skin using gentle, circular motions. Be careful to avoid the eyes. Gently scrub face for 60 seconds, then rinse with warm water and pat dry. Repeat once per week.
Daily Diet
While a daily skincare routine is a great foundation for anti-aging success, true skin transformation comes from the inside out. You need to make sure that you’re giving your body the internal nourishment it needs to keep your skin youthful.
First, you need to be eating plenty of antioxidants each day. Antioxidants protect your skin from free radicals which accelerate the visible signs of aging. They also repair the skin, reduce the appearance of existing blemishes and give it a brighter, smoother look. Fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds are all great sources of antioxidants that you should be eating regularly.
Second, you need to make sure your body is fully hydrated so that your skin is fresh and moist. To stay hydrated, drink at least eight glasses of water per day. If you find drinking that much plain water difficult, mix up your intake with coffee, fruit infused water, fruit teas and water rich fruits and vegetables.
Daily Lifestyle
When you have a daily skincare and diet regimen in place, your skin will quickly start to look years younger. However, for even healthier, younger looking skin, there’s a couple more things you need to be doing daily.
First, commit to getting eight hours of sleep every night. Sleep is important for so many aspects of your health and your skin is no exception to this. It allows your body to deeply nourish and repair your skin cells which results in a much more youthful complexion for you.
Second, stay out of the sun where possible. The harmful UV rays from sunlight damage your skin and make it age faster. If you do have to spend extended amounts of time in the sun, wear a hat and use organic sunscreen regularly to protect your skin.
